School project - Aboriginals

Dharawal : the story of the Dharawal speaking people of Southern Sydney : a collaborative work / by Les Bursill et al

At last, one easy source to help find out about the local Aboriginal people.

Task 8 Social networking

Had a look at some library My Space accounts.

Topeka and Shawnee Public Libraries.

Loved the video book/video reviews and the library related chats about books but found the "friends" personal ads a little disconcerting. I don't want to know that much about our customers.

Links to "friends" such as authors like Meg Cabot is more worthwhile in the Hennepin County Library

Has some good ads for teen books/videos (links weren't working).

Their blogs try hard but don't attract many comments although this doesn't mean that the promotion is ineffective.

Denver Evolver feels like it fits the target teen audience. It is a bit more creative than the previous two but the others are more like the comfortable library I know.

Crome Yellow / Aldous Huxley audio e-book

And now for something a little less confronting.
audio e-books.
Librivox Acoustical liberation of books in the public domain.
LibriVox volunteers record chapters of books in the public domain and release the audio files back onto the net. Our goal is to make all public domain books available as free audio books.
I have followed the option of downloading Crome Yellow/Aldous Huxley via I-tunes with the idea of listening to a chapter a day via an mp3 player.
