Coastal walk completed

Hooray! Thank you Queen for an extra day off which we used to finally complete one of the coastal walks.
We drove to La Perouse, caught the bus to Maroubra and walked back via Malabar Beach, Long Bay and numerous golf courses, Little Bay, Congwong Beach to LaPa.
Beautiful day to admire our sparkling coast. Let me advise anyone else who wants to walk this stretch - don't attempt it on a public holiday unless you enjoy hurrying from tee to tee expecting a golf ball to land on your head any second. The golf courses were packed with impatient golfers wanting their turn. I heard one man say to the backlog at one hole that you get a bonus if your ball hit the woman who was taking a few too many tries on her way to the next green. Don't want to imagine what he thought of people using the public right of way through his club. "Fore!"
I forgot to take my previously prepared vegan lunch. Luckily we found a great cafe with the best outlook over Malabar Beach (tiny beach isn't it?). I had some scrumptious mushrooms and leeks with Turkish bread and happily strode off up the hills.
After some meditative thoughts in the totally quiet and peaceful Coast Hospital Cemetery we got a bit lost but eventually found our way down a cool bush track to Congwong Beach.
The official walk actually continues across from La Perouse at Kurnell and on to Cronulla - but as we have done that section of the walk ages ago, we called it complete at LaPa.
A sense of achievement at completing the task and walking through your city's suburbs gives plenty of time for sticky beaking and contemplation. We are lucky to live in such a beautiful place.
